If you love life sim games (i.e. The Sims) and you love animals, then you definitely want to read this post on a realistic wolf life simulation game from the 90s. You can find out more about the wolf 1994 game and watch gameplay videos here.
Wolf 1994 For Dos: More About The Game
Wolf: The Simulation, AKA Wolf, was developed by Manley & Associates and published for MS-DOS in 1994. The game promises to provide an immersive experience in which you play as a Wolf and have to learn to survive either on your own or as part of a pack.
This proves to be a fairly realistic wolf life simulation game, especially for its time. You can use keyboard and mouse controls to hunt, kill, feed, explore, mate or fight with other wolves, and more. If you choose the right options at the right time, you can thrive and become the leader of a large pack. However, the wrong choices can cause you to lose your status in the pack, be killed, starve to death, etc.
Here is a gameplay video to demonstrate how truly amazing this wolf simulation game can be. For gameplay tips or to find out how you can play this game for free, you can skip the video and continue reading below!
Wolf: Game Tips and How To Play Online Now
You start off the game as a fairly young wolf. I recommend not trying to challenge other wolves or mate with anyone for a while. To be successful, you need experience first.
Once you gain some experience, you can challenge other wolves to try to become the Alpha wolf. If you win that position, then you can mate with other wolves to make pups.
Some important keys to know and use frequently are:
N (Smell) to smell prey to eat or hunters that you will want to avoid
S (See) is useful for the same reasons as the ‘Smell’ command above.
M (Map) can be used to find watering holes
D (Drink) to drink from water sources
E (Eat) to fill your hunger bar when you are on top of food
Movement speed and direction is easily controlled using a mouse. You can long press the mouse button on top of an animal within reach to kill them for food.
A full list of keyboard controls is available for reference by pressing the F1 key in-game.

This wolf life simulation game is abandonware and can be legally downloaded and played for free. The easiest way I’ve found to play it that doesn’t require a download at all is to play in-browser here.
You can also download it for free and play offline using a DOS emulator (i.e. Dosbox)
