DJ Retro Games started as a YouTube channel where I share my love of the ‘retro’ games that today’s generation likely hasn’t experienced yet. When people started asking how to find certain games or how to play them, I started trying to include that information in the video descriptions. It didn’t take long before a website seemed more practical for that.
So, the DJ Retro Games site came to be!
What Makes DJ Retro Games Different
We are not just an abandonware download site. Most sites that offer downloads for retro games have a large catalogue of titles, perhaps with a few screenshots. There is often little, if any, info on the actual gameplay or how to make a specific title work on your computer.
While DJ Retro Games does not feature thousands of titles, I personally play every game posted here. That means each game has at least one gameplay video available on YouTube, along with detailed instructions on how you can find and play it yourself, often using an emulator (i.e. DosBox).
If a game is considered abandonware and able to be distributed for free, I provide a download link with my personal, virus-free game files. If it is not a legally free game, a link will be included where you can purchase a working version.
If you have a question or concern about any game featured on DJ Retro Games, you can send an email to dj@djretrogames.com.
The other thing that sets DJ Retro Games apart is the fun and approachable atmosphere. The videos are not made by a professional gamer or expert, just me having a blast and wanting to share it with you. Anyone who watches my channel knows that I do not mind creating a gameplay video, even if I am hilariously bad at playing it. Games are meant to be entertaining!
When To Expect New Content
I almost always upload content daily on the DJ Retro Games YouTube channel, with new games being added on Wednesday and Saturday. On other days, I will often post videos of new levels or fresh takes on games that have been featured on the channel before.
If you enjoy watching classic games like Pinball and Pac-Man or just feel nostalgic for 1980s, 90s, and early 00s, please subscribe to the channel.
For downloadable content, guides, and reviews, I post on this site at least every Wednesday and Saturday to go along with the new games featured on Youtube. Extra content may be posted at any time though, especially in response to questions and comments.
So, feel free to request your favorite game or help with a level that you are stuck on. You can even ask me about my favorite games for a particular platform. The answer most likely will involve bonus content 🙂
