Math Blaster Plus Dos Game (1987)

For many 80s and 90s kids, this is the Math Blaster dos game we played in school to review math problems. We have more information on the game, a Math Blaster free download, and a fun gameplay video for you in today’s post!

About the Math Blaster Plus Dos Game

Math Blaster Plus! is an updated version of the original, with a much more user-friendly interface, plus some additional features for educators. Five different types of math are available: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and fractions/decimals, so the games are applicable to a wide range of preschool and school-aged kids.

The math problems in the game come from pre-written lessons, although you can use Math Blaster Plus! to create more lessons, print stored lessons to be used as worksheets or tests, and track individual players’ performance within the game.

Players can choose from four mini-games, all designed to encourage the development of math skills. The games include:

  • Rocket Launcher – Math problems are given, and each correct answer allows you build a rocket and then launch into space.
  • Trash Zapper- You help the Blasternaut clean up by finding the missing number in an equation and blasting that piece of trash with lasers.
  • Number Recycler – You use the available numbers to form equations that are recycled in a machine for coins.
  • Math Blaster – Math Blaster, or Blasternaut in some other Math Blaster editions, is an action-based game where you solve math problems by flying your Blasternaut into the correct answer while avoiding floating obstacles. Occasionally, a bonus round occurs where you get extra points for getting food items that are floating past.

Here’s a video of some Rocket Launcher and Math Blaster lessons.

Overall, it is still a great game for kids to learn and review math.
